Community Care Day 2026

community care day is back!

after having to postpone due to the weather, we’re excited to finally come together for an afternoon of collective care, rest, and healing.

join us for a day dedicated to nourishing ourselves and each other. we’ll have healing justice practitioners offering care, opportunities to connect with community, food, and space to slow down and just be.

in a world that asks so much of us, we deserve spaces where we can be cared for, too.

masks are required indoors, and rapid COVID testing will be available at the door.

Self-Preservation as Political Warfare: Writing Toward Care as Resistance

When:
Thursday, June 4, 2026 - 6:30pm

Self-preservation is more than a wellness trend - it is survival, resistance, and reclamation.

Join healotry and The Audre Lorde Project for Self-Preservation as Political Warfare: Writing Toward Care as Resistance, an interactive poetry workshop grounded in the words of Audre Lorde:
"Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare."

Together, we will explore rest, boundaries, joy, and care as acts of resistance through reflection, discussion, and creative writing. Participants will leave with original writing, collective affirmation, and reminders that our healing is political too.

Come write, reflect, and affirm that caring for ourselves in a world that demands our exhaustion is a revolutionary act.

Refreshments will be provided!
